About Me

Graphic Design

With over 35 years experience in book and magazine publishing, and 15 years in web design and build, I work with Adobe Creative Cloud programmes to produce ready-to-print projects such as books, pamphlets, stationery etc, or digitally such as ebooks and all elements of web creation. My expertise includes photo restoration, photography for web, and all areas of branding - offering a full  package for new clients looking to build a brand.

I am constantly aware of book and web designs in shops or on the web, and take an active interest in keeping informed with the newest designers and trends, as well as seeking inspiration from classic 20th Century design. I have had a life-long love of typography and am always on the look out for new font collections.

Illustration

I have worked for many years with clients to create bespoke illustrations and logos. In 2023 I embarked on a three year BA Hons degree in Illustration with Falmouth University, to be completed in 2026. 

I take a keen interest in my surroundings and culture and history which influences my illustration. I am inspired by the natural world and all eras of history, which feature heavily in my designs.

When working on an idea I enjoy sketching out with an either a dip pen or fountain pen and watercolours. As I am very colour aware, I work through visuals in terms of the colours that speak to me, rather than what I can see. My illustrations move forward either digitally in iIllustrator or Fresco, or in an analogue medium such as paint or print.
